Miners’ Memorial Park Fundraising Initiatives

Starting in 2008:  With the help of EPCAMR, the HBPS was awarded over $12,000 in grant money from M&T Bank, Living Well Luzerne County Coalition, Future Farmers of America and ARIPPA.

In July of 2016, the HBPS was awarded a $100,000 Act 13 grant from the Commonwealth! Act 13 of 2012 establishes the Marcellus Legacy Fund and allocates funds to the Commonwealth Financing Authority for planning, acquisition, development, rehabilitation, and repair of greenways, recreational trails, open space, parks, and beautification projects using the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP).

In addition, donations (of money and time) from the community and individuals have been pouring in to help in the construction of the memorial park.  But the park is not finished yet…
